Good to know

How long is a wedding photoshoot in Thailand?

Most sessions run between forty-five minutes and two hours. In Thailand the time of day matters more than the length: the sun rises and sets between roughly six and seven o'clock all year, the soft light lasts only a short while because the sun climbs fast, and by mid-morning heat and hard overhead light take over. An hour that starts at sunrise or ends at sunset usually gives more than two hours at noon. The photographer's packages on their profile say exactly what each length includes.

Which month is best for a beach wedding in Thailand?

It depends on the coast. Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak and Koh Lanta are driest from about November to April; their rainy season runs roughly mid-May to mid-October and peaks in September. Koh Samui and its neighbours have the opposite pattern, with the heaviest rain from October to December. Plan the ceremony for the last hour before sunset β€” the sun sets between about six and seven all year β€” and give the photographer time for portraits in that light before the reception. If the ceremony is at or near a temple, ask the temple first: rules for weddings and shoots differ from one temple to the next.
