Studio portrait Photoshoot FAQ

How long is a studio portrait photoshoot in Thailand?

Most sessions run between forty-five minutes and two hours. In Thailand the time of day matters more than the length: the sun rises and sets between roughly six and seven o'clock all year, the soft light lasts only a short while because the sun climbs fast, and by mid-morning heat and hard overhead light take over. An hour that starts at sunrise or ends at sunset usually gives more than two hours at noon. The photographer's packages on their profile say exactly what each length includes.

What happens if it rains on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Ask the photographer for their plan B before you book β€” many can move the session into a studio or a covered location. Rain in Thailand often comes in heavy bursts: in Bangkok and the north during the rainy season it tends to fall in the afternoon and evening, so a morning slot often holds. The Andaman coast is wettest around September and the Gulf islands around November; in those weeks a studio or a covered backup spot is the safe plan. In the north from February to April, smoke rather than rain is the usual reason to move indoors.
